Christmas is Coming

I just signed up for a Quilted Christmas Tree Skirt class with Mary at Sew to Speak {the best little quilt shop, ever!} I cannot wait!

Here are my design options: {photos are borrowed from Mary's Flickr page}

I am leaning towards the first one, but I am also thinking I might change it up a bit.... We'll see. The class runs for 3 Friday evenings, and one of the nicest ladies in the world is doing it with me. It is going to be a blast. I am excited for the laughter and designated sewing time! :)

Happy Sewing!

123 Sew project

Happy Monday!

Yes, I am still awake. Yes, I am tired. Yes, I am crazy!

Well Sunday was a successful sewing day, for me. I spent the whole day sitting at our dinning room table....cutting and pinning and running up to my sewing desk to sew, and clipping, etc. It was so fun! I feel so relaxed and I feel so refreshed! Life is good.

I was able to complete two projects, in full.
The Pumpkin that I mentioned in the last post (which turned out so cute!).

And then I made a cute little "pencil bag" from 123 Sew by Ellen Luckett Baker.
Just picked this gem up!

I used the hideaway fabric that I have been hoarding for a project like this for sometime now.

I used a fun polka dot, cannot remember who made it... Maybe an Alexander Henry? It was a holiday fabric last year.

I added a fun vintage button that I got at a GREAT estate sale in Chicago, IL last year

I think it turned out well. I did enlarge the pattern, I wanted a bag for my iPod/iPad cords that I carry around for work. I think next I will modify it so it can be an iPad case!

Off to bed.

Night Friends!

Pumpkins!!

I love fall! I love everything about it. The crisp chill in the air, the smell of campfires, going to farms and searching for the best pumpkin, picking apples etc. It is such a fun time of year!

Last week, Two Peas in a Pod Designs, posted this Mystery Sew Along. Since my weekend didn't have too many plans, I thought....why not!

Last year about this time I made this:
Pumpkin Patch / Halloween Wall Hanging 1

So I had some extra orange fabric laying around and thought, this project would be a great way to use it!

Now I did cheat a bit... It wasn't a mystery for me, because I waited until Saturday to start and by then it was obvious! (Sorry Trish!). But it was still fun to make and Pretty easy too. I did modify a few things. I didn't have any twine....so I just did a running stitch all the way around each seem and then pulled and knotted. It worked well, when I find some twine, I might add it....we'll have to see :)

Sewing on Sunday

It's Sunday! And it's the first Sunday in awhile that I have had completely free!! PB and I have been involved with a Volleyball league, which takes up a lot of our Sundays. So this Sunday I am trying to take advantage, and this is how I am spending it :)

Sewing on Sunday

What a mess!!! But, can you guess what I am working on? (Notice all the shades of orange :) )

I have a couple projects going:
{1}. Fall quilt, using the fabrics I posted here.

Finally Friday Inspirations

I decide to join: {Monday Morning Inspiration via Two Peas in a Pod Designs} even though I am 4 days late ;)

Today's inspiration:

There are so many projects I am wanting to do and so many things I am wanting to try (along with tons of things I need to do too...) It's hard to decide what to do first! {Do you ever have that problem?} I guess I just need to make a decision and run with it! Pick one thing and start {and make sure I finish too ;)}

I have had these books laying around my house for awhile:
Books I love, and need to use more!

And I recently picked up these books at the library:
Picked these up from the library! Excited for the projects within :)

I love looking at books and getting ideas for things to make, and especially love books that give you the How-to's for doing the projects. I just picked up this little gem, that has great projects and easy to follow instructions! Cannot wait to use it:
Just picked this gem up!

And since today is the first official day of fall!!!
Here are some fabrics that I plan to use for several projects in these books :)

Fabric inspiration? Halloween postcard?

Happy Fall y'all!
