Fall Weekend Fun

I am loving the crisp fall weather we are having! I enjoy watching the leaves change, sitting out by the campfire roasting marshmallows and drinking apple cider. It's such a fun family oriented time of year.

PB and I don't have too much going on this weekend, so we decided to go on a little day trip! We are headed to IKEA and the FABRIC SHACK!

I am so excited for this fun fall adventure! I'll let you know how it goes when we get back!

Enjoy Fall!

{Tutorial} Pumpkin Onsie

Many of you know that my sister, Jill, had her first baby in June. His name is Coen and he is the cutest, smiliest baby ever!

Since Halloween is coming and every baby gets dressed up in the silliest outfits for every holiday for their first year (or more, sometimes!) What better way to celebrate than with a Pumpkin

Pumpkin Onsie Tutorial by Blue-J Cottage

Pumpkin Onsie Tutorial
Photo

Supplies:
-Orange onsie {or any other item you wish to make into a pumpkin.... Ex: T-Shirt, Quilt, Blanket, Burp cloth, etc.}
-Pumpkin face print out {I had to print several to get the size I wanted for my onsie. I used photoshop to edit the image size.}
-Heat 'n Bond Lite {or something similar **make sure it's sewable**}
-Tear away stabilizer
-Scrap of black fabric {I used a fun spiderweb print}
-Scrap of green fabric {I ended up not using this, was going to put a leaf and a little embellishment around the collar. This would be cute...if you want to still do it :) }
-Scissors
-Pencil
-Iron
-Sewing machine and other basic sewing supplies

Step 1:
Trace Pumpkin Face onto Heat 'n Bond
{**please note that the face will be Mirrored when you cut it out...so if you need the face to go a certain way flip the print out over and trace it that way.**}

Step 2:
Fussy cut the face out

Pivot around each corner of the pieces
{the onsie may get all bunched up....just go slow and pay attention}

Step 7:
Peel/tear tear away stabilizer off.
{be careful not to pull stitches out! Just go slow and if you get stuck move to a different spot.}

Step 8:
Turn it right side out and you are done! Yeah! You did it!
Do you know the Pumpkin Man?

And look how cute it will be on your little pumpkin!
